First Cool/Warm Eye Massager Pledges An Astonishing $80,000 In Two Days
Having problems with dry eye or eye strain? Aurai developed the first cool/warm water-propelled eye massager in the world, aiming to bring relief to discomfort of eyes. The project was launched on Kickstarter on May 6th in the evening, received $50,000 in just 4 hours and $80,000 by the evening of the 8th with 374 backers.
According to the 2015 Digital Eye Strain Report, 1/3 of the adults spend 9 hours per day on digital devices, while 70% of the Millennials have digital eye strain issues. It’s really a pity that there are too many eye problems yet too little solution. So now, Aurai is taking on the mission. Symptoms resolved with one simple button.
“What makes our product so different is that we simplify the complicated compression process into one simple button,” said Chu, one of the co-founders and business developers of Aurai.
After putting on the mask, users can not only control vibration level, but also choose to have warm (38-40°C) or cool (18-20°C) massage by simply pressing the button on the controller. Symptoms like dry eyes or dark circles can be easily resolved this way.
The fundraising on Kickstarter will not end until June 5th, but the product has already attracted numerous distributors as well as international investors.
When talking about the manufacturing process of Aurai, Chu is quite confident. He estimates that the basic molding costs around $83,000, and the products would be released on schedule in September worldwide.
Finally, Chu mentioned that for the near future, Aurai will keep developing beauty- and health-related products featuring water functions. It’s estimated that they will release one new product for each coming year.
