Consisting of AI experts and mobile gaming enthusiasts, Bubbleye uses AI-driven algorithms to pinpoint the most cost-effective ad placements, increasing user acquisition for mobile applications. Serving top gaming clients across South America, Israel, and the United States, Bubbleye has strategically positioned itself in Taiwan, tapping into the island's rich technical talent and startup-friendly environment.
In the vibrant world of mobile gaming, every company has a common goal: to capture the attention of potential users, engage them, and convert them into loyal, paying customers. Such a process has always been a big league game, where only behemoths like Rovio, the makers of the wildly popular Angry Birds, could afford to play. With a clear idea of who will pay for extras, Bubbleye, a fast-growing AI startup, brings the power of big data analytics and smart ad placements to the wider industry, including budding startups.
Bubbleye, composed of a multinational team of AI experts and mobile gaming enthusiasts, is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and boasts business development teams across the globe. Bubbleye is good at identifying the most valuable users who are willing to make in-app purchases. Bubbleye's platform could analyze the behavior of these users, and their engagement with advertisements across different channels, like Facebook, Google, and TikTok, and predict where best to place ads to attract more of such users. This approach allows even smaller gaming companies to effectively compete in the market, using their budgets to attract "whales"—the high-value players who drive revenue.
The essence of this startup business is to increase user acquisition for mobile applications, particularly for gaming apps. Bubbleye has honed an AI-driven algorithm to accurately predict the most cost-effective ad placements, thereby ensuring a high-quality user base for their clients. The algorithm analyzes vast amounts of user data to gauge behaviors, preferences, and potential for in-app purchases, and then it predicts the best advertising channels to target and the optimal price for each ad placement.
Bubbleye has made significant inroads in various regional markets, including North and South America, the Middle East, and South Korea. The startup's success in these regions is a testament to the effectiveness of its AI algorithms in deciphering user behavior and predicting ad performance. Clients, even those with monthly budgets exceeding $10 million, have found significant value in Bubbleye's approach, noting the platform's ability to deliver high-quality users at a cost-effective price point.
Used to serve the top-dogs apps, Bubbleye now pivots its service not only to big players but also to a wider market segment. They have launched a new product: innovative tools specifically designed for marketing use. This addition helps these emerging companies broaden their reach in markets across the globe, and target advertising viewers with more precision.
It empowers startups to run video campaigns on diverse platforms like Facebook and the Google Play Store while understanding where ad placements would be most valuable. Moreover, Bubbleye has opened up a whole new set of opportunities for smaller companies by offering a suite of creative tools.
Rather than making decisions purely based on data, this new feature allows startups to manage the creative side of ads, a significant factor that accounts for up to 50% of ad performance. The Creative Suite is designed to allow companies to produce new ad videos each week and test these concepts dynamically. This enables companies to continuously evolve and refine their advertising approach based on user feedback and engagement. This suite contains features that can help generate and test a variety of ad types - be it video, image, or interactive ads.
For instance, with these tools, a company can craft an engaging image or video for a game like Angry Birds that could convert one in ten viewers into fans or users. This pivot signifies Bubbleye's commitment to leveling the playing field in the mobile gaming industry. By giving smaller players the tools to compete with larger companies, Bubbleye is democratizing access to sophisticated ad placements and creative tools, thereby opening up a wealth of opportunities for startups in the rapidly evolving gaming market.
“Choosing to stay in Taiwan is really a fortunate coincidence, but it ended up pretty well,” said Stefano N. Roncari, co-founder and CEO at Bubbleye. Ten years ago, this Italian was in Beijing and just sold his previous company, which made games and apps. As he had the demand for advertising his own products, he found that the Return on Investment (ROI) is bad. Trying to solve the problem he experienced a lot, he took on the startup journey again.
Then Roncari took the flight to San Francisco, the United States. He there met up with William Bao Bean, founder of the MOX accelerator program, which was based in Taiwan and had its parent fund from Silicon Valley SOSV. After two months, the program ended but the team of Bubbleye decided to stay.
Bubbleye's decision to establish its R&D headquarters in Taiwan stems from several factors, with the country's wealth of technical talent leading the list. Taiwan has a strong reputation for excelling in hard tech fields, with its citizens possessing a wide range of skills and expertise. Taiwanese tech talent also tends to adopt Western ways of working, which Bubbleye has found is not as common among tech professionals in other Asian countries. This familiar work culture enables Bubbleye to leverage local talent effectively while maintaining its global operating style.
Moreover, Taiwan has proved to be a conducive environment for nurturing startups like Bubbleye, according to Roncari. The island has a strong support system in place for such companies, with accelerators, government funding, and initiatives like Garage+, which all work towards fostering a thriving startup ecosystem. In this supportive environment, Bubbleye's team, which includes Stanford PhDs, has found open doors to aid in their growth and development.
Serving top games across South America, Israeli, and the United States, Bubbleye continues to expand its business world map to Europe and Southeast Asia
