In a landmark collaboration that aims to revolutionize food deliveries and reduce carbon emissions, food-delivery e-bike provider, Keego, has announced a strategic partnership with Uber Eats. Starting from Stockholm, Uber Eats encourage drivers to purchase or rent a Keego e-bike directly. Enjoying Uber Eats’ large network of 5.5 million drivers, Keego will see more and more of its e-bikes delivering food on the street.
The partnership initially targets Uber Eats in Stockholm but has eyes firmly set on expanding throughout Europe. Uber Eats would promote Keego’s e-bike renting or acquisition on the platform, to encourage their drivers to adopt green transportation. Keego also plans to roll out its expansion plan through the Uber Eats network, striking more deals with the food delivery giant.
In 2022, we described Keego as “born in a golden age”, as the food delivery industry is gaining much traction. Now, Keego, the startup that builds e-bikes for food delivery, comes up with news of partnering with Uber Eats, further grasping the heat of food delivery and thriving.
Keego stands apart from the other three companies as the only e-bike designed specifically for professional deliveries. A local Uber Eats manager expressed excitement over the new partnership, stating, "Keego's innovative approach to e-bikes aligns perfectly with our commitment to reducing carbon emissions. The professional-grade design of the e-bike Model KG4 makes it an ideal choice for our couriers."
Uber Eats drivers may find the e-bike an appealing option for various reasons. By switching to the e-bike, they can reduce their carbon emissions by 89%, promoting a more environmentally friendly delivery method. Along with the ecological benefit, the e-bike's 45-kilometer range allows drivers to complete more deliveries in a given time frame, enabling them to earn more money.
Furthermore, typically, 20% of a driver's salary might go towards expenses such as scooters. With the e-bike, however, this cost can be reduced to 10%-15% of the salary, meaning that drivers can retain a higher percentage of their earnings. The success of this approach was confirmed by Uber Eats when they rolled out a pilot program for their drivers using e-bikes. After just a couple of months, 25% of the drivers participating in the pilot were convinced enough to purchase an e-bike, making the initiative a clear success. This combination of environmental consciousness and financial incentives has made the e-bike a compelling choice for Uber Eats drivers.
One long-time Uber Eats courier in Sweden, who has already bought his own Keego KG4, shared his thoughts during a recent interview: "The Keego KG4 is not just an e-bike; it's a game-changer. The design, efficiency, and performance make deliveries faster and more eco-friendly. I'm proud to be part of this shift towards sustainability."
In addition to the partnership with Uber Eats, Keego has also been honored as the 8th best E-bike company in the world by EV Magazine. Recognized for their innovation and commitment to quality, Keego has become a name to watch in the global e-bike industry.
Cyklande Rörmokaren, a Swedish plumbing company, is adopting Keego’s e-bikes, too. To make it both quick and environmentally friendly, the company has tested many brands of bicycles and electric bikes for their plumbers and has now zeroed in on their new main vehicle, the Keego KG4.
Designed primarily to assist delivery couriers, featuring a low center of gravity, a 65 kg load capacity, a 100 km range, and robust components, the e-bike is also ideally suited for plumbers and their equipment.
As one of the top 10 e-bike companies globally, Keego keeps expanding its global presence. Developing fast and widely in Europe, the startup has its customers located in three countries in Scandinavia: Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, as well as in Italy.
With a unique product designed for professional use and growing international recognition, Keego is not just riding the wave of sustainable transport but actively transforming various industries. The partnership with Uber Eats and the accolade from EV Magazine underscores Keego's commitment to innovation and sustainability, reinforcing its status as a leading player in the e-bike industry.
