Supported by the National Development Council and national startup brand Startup Island TAIWAN, Meet Global brings a Taiwanese startup delegation to Silicon Valley to meet with investors, accelerators, and local partners. In the meantime, Taiwanese entrepreneurs get to pitch at the Taiwan Tech Summit and introduce their companies to over one and a half thousand professionals.
Silicon Valley has been the best environment for startups no matter local startups or foreign startups. Startups in Silicon Valley can access a dense network of venture capitalists, angel investors, and industry experts, making it easier to secure funding and invaluable mentorship. The region also boasts a vibrant ecosystem of tech giants, established companies, and innovative startups, fostering collaboration, partnerships, and talent acquisition opportunities. The proximity to world-class universities like Stanford and Berkeley ensures a steady stream of top-notch talent and cutting-edge research in Silicon Valley.
Silicon Valley still remains the global epicenter of innovation, offering a unique environment conducive to the growth and success of startups.
To connect with Silicon Valley’s startup community, Meet Global launches Meet Trip Silicon Valley and brings 10 Taiwanese startups to meet with investors like Acron Pacific Ventures, Taiwan Leap Venture, K2 Venture Finance, as well as visit accelerators and hubs like Berkeley SkyDeck, Stanford Science and Technology Hub and Draper University. Meet Trip also brings startups to visit important government departments like the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco.
Through a series of visits and meetups, Taiwanese startups get to know more about Silicon Valley’s startup ecosystem. Besides official meetups, startups also schedule meetings with these guests to further discuss any questions they have. “Thanks Meet Global for arranging a lunch gathering with angel investor Chen Ping Yu. He gave us a lot of useful advice and answered my questions about how to grow my company,” said Po Chen, founder of CancerFree.
During the Meet Trip, Meet Global hosts a Taiwan Demo Day inside Taiwan Tech Summit, which is a tech forum that topics span AI, software, hardware, biotech, and cybersecurity, attracting over 1,500 professionals to attend.
This year Taiwan Tech Summit teams up with Meet Global to host the first demo pitch event and ten of Meet Trip’s startups can get on the stage to introduce their business. In addition, Meet Global invites 3 experienced VIP guests, partner of Draper Dragon Matt Huang, partner of Taiwan Leap Ventures Louis Lo, and Chief Marketing Officer of Kdan Mobile, to share feedback with the startups.
More than 150 audiences joined Taiwan Demo Day and many of the audience praised that Taiwanese startups are very mature and ready for the US market. “I really like these startups, they showed that they are very active and well prepared for expanding to the US market,” said Matt Huang, partner of Draper Dragon.
Ten startups that attended Taiwan Tech Summit’s pitch event include AIPLUX technology, CancerFree Biotech, INSTO, Meet.Jobs, MacroMicro, InstAI, Purism EV, Above Care, Leadin Technology, and Heyday Fitness.
With COVID-19 calmed down, international exchange has started to get more frequent. If startups want to expand to the US market, it is essential to fly there. Meet Global will host more Meet Trip to help Taiwanese startups go global.
