North America Taiwanese Engineering & Science Association (NATEA) Announces 4th Annual NATEA Women’s Summit
North America Taiwanese Engineering & Science Association (NATEA) is excited to announce the upcoming 4th annual NATEA Women’s Summit, scheduled for Friday, March 22nd, 2024, at 5 pm PDT. This year's summit, themed "Investing in Women," will assemble a distinguished lineup of female leaders who have spearheaded their careers and fostered equality in opportunities for others. Building upon the success of previous years, NATEA aims to empower attendees at all career stages, equipping them with the tools and inspiration to thrive.
The summit will commence with an engaging keynote address titled “Becoming W.I.S.E. (Women in Science and Engineering): Empowering Women in STEM,” presented by esteemed scientist Dr. Shirley Meng. Dr. Meng, Professor of Molecular Engineering at The University of Chicago and Chief Scientist for Energy Storage Science at Argonne National Laboratory, will share inspiring narratives of her groundbreaking contributions to the science field as a female scientist.
Subsequently, the summit will feature three dynamic panel discussions, each centering on different strategies to advance opportunities for women.
Panel Discussion 1, titled “Invest in US” will combine wisdom from three female leaders who have impactfully invested in mentorship and community building. Esteemed speakers Dr. Shirley Meng, Ginger Tsun (Director of Engineering at Yahoo, Intuit, LogMeIn, Claris), and Nana Tseng (Chief Procurement Officer and VP of External Manufacturing Operations at Onsemi; Chairwoman of Monte Jade West Science and Technology Association) will provide insights into how they channel their own career success into empowerment of women and support of the communities.
Continuing the discourse, Panel Discussion 2: "Invest in ME" will delve into personal and professional development strategies. This panel will feature four distinguished speakers across various industries, including Christiana Chen (VP of Product at Pluralsight), Yi Lin Pei (Career Coach & Founder of Courageous Careers), Monique Lee Hawthrone (Lead Counsel at Airbnb), and Nancy Chu (Product Leadership and Solopreneurship Coach). They will share pivotal moments from their careers and insights on navigating challenges and seizing growth opportunities.
Panel Discussion 3, "Invest in CHANGE," will bring together two exceptional women who have made courageous and unconventional choices in their lives. Dr. Chen-Ai Sung (Former OB-GYN at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital) and Yi-Ning Huang (Entrepreneur & Startup CTO Consultant; Founder of Honu Lab) will share their experiences charting their own paths and redefining social expectations. This panel will be conducted in Mandarin.
Dr. Hsiang-He Lee, President of NATEA, expressed, “In recent years, NATEA has actively championed female leadership. Empowerment transcends gender. We endeavor to harness the strength of female leadership, unlocking limitless possibilities for innovation, collaboration, and advancement.” Dr. Lee will deliver the welcoming address at the event's outset. Jasmin Yu and Tzu-Ling Chen, both NATEA board members, will serve as this year’s co-hosts. Additionally, NATEA is thrilled to have BNext as our media partner for the event. BNext will provide live streaming coverage, enabling a wider audience to participate and engage with the summit virtually.
The 2024 NATEA Women’s Summit promises to be an enlightening and inspiring event, offering attendees actionable insights and strategies to drive positive change in their careers and communities.
