The AI wave is sweeping across the globe, with many businesses eager to adopt AI to enhance their competitiveness. However, the implementation process is not without its challenges. The significant expenditure of effort and time to confirm requirements, along with communication costs, becomes the biggest pain point hindering the successful implementation of AI.
Many enterprises will directly reach out to system integrators (SI) in the hope that, with the strength of SI firms, they can bring new technology into the enterprise. However, for the system integrators themselves, how to find the most suitable or the latest AI solutions becomes the next challenge — is it possible for system integrators to find the AI products they need just like looking through a catalog?
DataXquad is the innovative startup born to tackle this challenge. With a team boasting 15 years of experience in system integration, DataXquad deeply understands the pain points in the industry. Therefore, it is committed to serving as a bridge between system integrators and AI suppliers through a marketplace platform, making AI adoption easier.
DataXquad's founder, Jia Hao Chen (pictured on the right in the first image), stated that typically, at least 10 meetings are required in the matchmaking process between SI firms and AI solution providers. However, even after a series of back-and-forth quotations and evaluations, the system integrators may still not be able to immediately find the suitable solution for the enterprise.
DataXquad has established a platform that encompasses a database of various AI solution providers. This platform not only assists AI solution suppliers in clearly explaining the business application scenarios, features, and types of AI with the guidance of professional consultants but also enables system integrators to quickly find solutions that align with their budget and requirements, thereby reducing the communication costs between both parties during the matchmaking process.
By reducing transaction costs, system integrators can assist enterprises in seizing industry opportunities to develop their business, shortening the entire matchmaking process from several months to just a few weeks, thus accelerating the pace of AI implementation.
At this stage, DataXquad primarily targets the manufacturing, retail, and construction industries. The platform features over 300 AI solutions and over 170 suppliers, including well-known Taiwanese companies such as AIWin.
At present, DataXquad not only takes a 15% profit share from each transaction but also offers two types of membership subscription plans tailored for both buyers and sellers. Regarding this, Jia Hao Chen mentioned that one of the reasons for conceptualizing the operational model and establishing the membership subscription plan was actually to convince system integrators to purchase AI.
Jia Hao Chen mentioned that at present, there are relatively few system integrators involved in industrial AI. The reason is that the current experience of enterprise adoption is relatively limited, and system integrators lacking similar experience mostly worry about the high failure rate and high risk in the AI adoption process. However, for enterprises of a certain scale, AI adoption is necessary.
For AI solution suppliers, DataXquad provides an opportunity for proactive engagement with members. For a monthly fee of just $1,000, the platform assists teams in gaining significant exposure and actively matching them with buyers.
As for sellers, they pay $3,999 per month. Jia Hao Chen mentioned that system integrators simply need to fill out their budget and requirements on the website, and consultants will automatically provide multiple AI solutions based on the existing database. This allows system integrators without implementation experience to find suitable business models with the assistance of a professional team.
And this business model particularly tests DataXquad's understanding of various AI solutions, enabling swift and accurate matchmaking. 'Our team has the capability for this, but currently, we're handling it manually. We are developing an automated matching model to scale up,' said Jia Hao Chen.
Reflecting on the process of recruiting and building their startup from scratch, Jia Hao Chen mentioned the fortuitous encounter with his co-founder, Shu fan Lin (pictured left).
Two years ago, Jia Hao Chen, a Hong Kong native, arrived in Taiwan. Seeking entrepreneurial opportunities, he visited the Taichung Innovation and Incubation Center. Through a referral, he later met Shu fan Lin, the founder of ZeroDimension Tech, unexpectedly sparking their journey into entrepreneurship together.
DataXquad co-founder Shu fan Lin remarked that what impressed him at the time was the discussion of whether the company should focus on market demand or explore entirely new industries. "I wanted to understand new business behaviors," Lin said. He noted that the integration between system integrators and solution providers is mostly based on traditional transaction models. While Taiwan has long advocated for AI, only a few companies have actually applied it to existing business models.
Therefore, this discussion also planted the seeds for his future joining of the team, as he decided to embark on the entrepreneurial journey after accumulating six years of professional experience in providing digital transformation services to the manufacturing industry.
As for why choose a business platform as the entrepreneurial venture? In fact, this is closely related to Jia Hao Chen's past entrepreneurial experiences.
Jia Hao Chen joked that because he didn’t graduate from university, it was basically difficult for him to secure a stable, high-paying job in a large corporation. Therefore, he had to take the initiative to start his own business and create opportunities for himself. His entrepreneurial experience over the years has been diverse and rich, ranging from assisting in concert sales to developing geographic information systems and eventually founding an AI business platform. While these endeavors may seem unrelated, they all share a common thread: positioning their products as the "most crucial bridge" within their respective industries.
"This is the most interesting and intriguing aspect for me," Jia Hao Chen chuckled, noting that he doesn't come from a professional educational background, so he doesn't directly develop products. However, he understands that his strength lies in integrating industry resources and connecting user needs, making him more suitable as a mediator. The entrepreneurial experience he has gained along the way has become an important foundation for him to establish DataXquad based on a platform business model.
In terms of future goals, Jia Hao Chen hopes to establish a more detailed database, accumulate a sufficient list of sellers, and increase market liquidity.
