DATAYOO, an agricultural AI company based in Taiwan and Singapore, has entered into a partnership with Japan’s HOKURYO DENKO, known for its automated irrigation systems. The goal of this collaboration is to combine DATAYOO’s FarmiSpace platform with HOKURYO DENKO’s Aquaport Plus water management system to help farmers improve irrigation practices and water efficiency in rice farming.
DATAYOO specializes in using artificial intelligence to support farmers in managing their crops more effectively. Its FarmiSpace platform leverages satellite data to provide real-time insights into crop health, eliminating the need for on-site sensors. This helps farmers better manage irrigation, pest control, and crop care, all from a remote location.
However, AI alone can’t completely solve the challenges of farming. To create a more effective, all-encompassing solution, reliable automation tools are crucial. This is where HOKURYO DENKO’s Aquaport Plus comes in. By integrating FarmiSpace’s data-driven insights with Aquaport Plus’s automated irrigation system, farmers gain a comprehensive, seamless solution to managing rice fields.
OKURYO DENKO is a Japanese company specializing in innovative agricultural technologies. Known for its expertise in automated irrigation systems, it develops solutions that help farmers optimize water management, particularly in rice farming.
Aquaport Plus is one of OKURYO DENKO's product, an automated water gate system designed specifically for rice paddies. Powered by four batteries, it can operate throughout an entire growing season, allowing farmers to manage water levels remotely. This reduces the need for frequent field inspections and ensures consistent water conditions for rice crops. When connected with FarmiSpace’s AI tools, it helps farmers determine the best time for irrigation, reducing water waste and improving crop management.
Shaw Wu, CEO of DATAYOO, explained: “This partnership with HOKURYO DENKO marks a significant milestone in our expansion strategy. By integrating cutting-edge AI-driven analytics with high-quality automation equipment, we are committed to elevating agricultural technology and helping farmers achieve smarter, more efficient operations.”
DATAYOO explained that the main goal of this partnership is to work with top automation companies to improve their services and competitiveness in the Southeast Asian market, which is their current primary focus, including countries like Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. While Japan isn't a priority right now, the team said they are open to exploring opportunities there in the future.
The partnership aims to improve irrigation and water management, helping farmers increase rice production in areas with different water conditions. Both companies aim to expand their impact globally, with the ultimate goal of making farming more responsive to environmental challenges and improving water management practices worldwide.
