Health2Sync, a company focused on chronic disease management through digital health solutions, has raised US$20 million in a Series C funding round, along with an earlier extension.
The funds will be used to support the company's growth, expand into new markets, and prepare for a public listing in Taiwan.
Founded in 2013 Health2Sync helps people manage chronic conditions like diabetes. The company offers a mobile app that connects to blood glucose meters, allowing users to track their blood sugar levels easily. The app sends alerts if the levels are too high or low and also lets users record their diet, medications, and other health data.
In Taiwan, Health2Sync has become the most popular diabetes management app, with over 250,000 downloads.
Health2Sync entered the Japanese market in 2017 and, within a year, established itself as a prominent diabetes management app. One of the key factors contributing to its growth in Japan was its prior experience operating within Taiwan’s well-developed healthcare system.
Health2Sync’s presence in Japan reflects the growing demand for digital health solutions, particularly in countries with aging populations. As of February 2025, the platform has 490,000 users in Japan, with a global user base reaching 1.48 million.
In Japan, Health2Sync is involved in health insurance and employee health management projects in collaboration with corporations and local governments, including Yokohama City, Mitsubishi Motors, and Hitachi.
In its second round of funding (Series B), Health2Sync raised US$6 million, with Sompo Japan Insurance, the second-largest insurance group in Japan, leading the investment. This funding helped the company build important partnerships with local clinics, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies.
In the latest funding round, Health2Sync attracted investment from Taiwania Capital, Wistron, Pegatron, BE Health Ventures, ABIES Capital, and Cathay Venture. These funds will help Health2Sync focus on:
Developing New Programs: The company will introduce more programs, including tools for weight management, hypertension, and support for the use of GLP-1 medications.
Growing in New Markets: Health2Sync plans to expand further in Japan, South Korea, and Australia. They will also introduce their insulin dosage software, Insultrate, in additional markets.
Using AI for Better Management: The company aims to use AI to make disease management more efficient for patients and healthcare providers.
With this new funding, Health2Sync is moving closer to its goal of going public in Taiwan, which will help the company grow even further.
