Final Call: Launch Your Deep Tech Innovation with IC Taiwan Grand Challenge
According to Deloitte, the semiconductor industry has rapidly grown with an approximately 19% growth rate in 2024 and sales of USD 627 billion in the same year. In 2025, the global semiconductor industry sales are expected to reach USD 697 billion and USD 1 trillion by 2030. The growing global demand for AI technologies and applications is believed to be the main driving factor for this trend, as the entire addressable market for AI accelerator chips, the CEO of AMD, Dr. Lisa Su, expects the value of this specific market to reach USD 500 billion in 2028.
Organized by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan, IC Taiwan Grand Challenge (ICTGC) is a strategic initiative to drive innovation in the semiconductor industry. The competition focuses not only on IC applications but also on system integration and AI solutions . Winners will receive a grand prize of USD 30,000 , alongside access to premium resources including EDA tools, IC design support , and collaboration opportunities with industry leaders such as TSMC, MediaTek, and UMC.
Winning teams will also be invited to showcase their projects at the Taiwan Innovation Expo 2025 , taking place from October 16–18 , a remarkable opportunity to expand international business exposure, particularly for startups.

Startups established within 8 years from the date of application, research institutions, or individuals working in the following fields can register for the competition:
-AI Core technologies & Chips, including applications in AI chip design, Hardware acceleration, and Cybersecurity.
-Smart Mobility, including applications in Communications/Satellite and Electric Vehicles.
-Smart Manufacturing, including applications in IC Process, Robotics, and Intelligent Manufacturing.
-Smart Medtech, including applications in Biometrics, Smart Monitoring, and e-Health.
-Sustainability, including applications in Sustainable Manufacturing, Energy Saving Innovation, and New Energy.
