AppWorks Accelerator holds the 24th Demo Day today, showing off 24 startups including 12 teams focus on Web3, 12 teams focus on AI/IoT, and 7 of them from oversea. Along with AppWorks Demo Day, there is Wistron Accelerator 2th Demo Day, which unveils 7 startups.
AppWorks 24th Demo Day offcially kicked off in March 2022. There are 51 founders in total in this batch who span 12 different markets including Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the US, and almost half of them are serial entrepreneurs. The batch also includes 10 female founders.
AppWorks funding partner Jamie Lin said, “Our North Star has always been to help founders build and capitalize on paradigm shifts and maximize the impact on Taiwan and Southeast Asia, extending to the Web3 space. Depite the market volatility, we are still optimistic about the disruptive potential of AI, Blockchain, and Southeast Asia. Having already gone through several bull and bear cycles, the web3 world is now more mature, with various chains tools, wallets, and tools creating the necessary underlying infrastructure that ushered numerous users into the ecosystem.”
“As investors across historical cycles in traditional and crypto startups, we’ve seen the rise and fall of trends—as well as dramatic shifts that permanently alter the way founders and companies innovate and iterate products. With macro and geopolitical headwinds playing a dominant role in shaping market dynamics, we are now at the beginning of a new cycle, representing a shift in attitudes towards early-stage value creation across all market verticals and geographies,” said Jessica Liu, Partner, AppWorks. “With AW#24, we’re seeing many exciting innovations in web3 and traditional startups, creating powerful new ideas for the next cycle of innovation and entrepreneurship.”
With the addition of AW#24, there are now 457 active startups (+43 YoY) and 1,448 founders (+53 YoY) in the community. The AppWorks community now accounts for US$17.5 billion in annual revenues (+36% YoY), creating over 21,000 high-quality jobs in the digital economy (+15% YoY).
