Perplexity, an AI-powered search engine, is expanding its partnership with Taiwan Mobile to provide advanced AI search services to millions of Taiwanese users.
This collaboration builds on Perplexity’s existing availability in Taiwan and aims to enhance the way businesses and consumers access information, making the process faster and more efficient.
Founded in 2022, Perplexity offers an alternative approach to traditional search engines by using AI to provide a conversational search experience. Users can ask questions in natural language and receive answers supported by reliable sources.
Perplexity has already raised $500 million in 2024, boosting its value to $9 billion. The company has attracted high-profile investors, including tech giants like NVIDIA and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Perplexity’s blend of AI and traditional search engine features provides a useful tool for users around the world.
Taiwan Mobile’s General Manager Jamie Lin emphasized that this partnership aligns with the company’s commitment to driving innovation in AI. Lin shared that he has personally used Perplexity for the past two years, saving valuable time and significantly increasing his productivity. Now, millions of Taiwan Mobile customers will be able to access Perplexity’s AI search technology.
Taiwan Mobile users will be able to experience Perplexity Pro, a paid version that offers more advanced features. The Pro version allows for unlimited searches, document uploads for analysis, and the option to use different AI models for deeper, more accurate answers. It’s perfect for users who need quick insights on industry trends or fast-changing information.
Perplexity’s free version is available to everyone, but the Pro version, priced at $20 per month, offers a more powerful search experience with multi-round queries and in-depth answers from the latest AI models.
Taiwan Mobile is also working to bring AI into everyday life. The company has already introduced several AI-powered phones and offers AI consultations at retail locations. Taiwan Mobile also runs an “AI Smart Living Course” to encourage more people to learn about AI and how it can improve their lives.
For Perplexity, expanding its partnership with Taiwan Mobile is part of a global strategy. The company has already formed partnerships with major telecom companies like SK Telecom in South Korea, SoftBank in Japan, and Singtel in Singapore. Now, Taiwan Mobile becomes Perplexity’s exclusive telecom partner in Taiwan. Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, said that telecom partnerships are crucial to the company’s global strategy, and Taiwan is a key market for AI development.
Perplexity’s search engine is designed to provide fast, accurate results backed by reliable sources. Whether users are on the web, iOS, or Android, they can easily access Perplexity’s AI-powered search. For more advanced users, the Pro version offers multi-round queries using the latest AI models, making it especially useful for industries like tech and finance that rely on up-to-date information.
Perplexity is also working on a new product called Comet, a browser that will integrate their AI search directly into browsing. While the launch date and features haven’t been revealed yet, the announcement has created a lot of buzz, especially among early adopters.
With its expanded partnership in Taiwan, Perplexity aims to make it easier for users to search for information online. The collaboration with Taiwan Mobile will bring AI search technology to millions of Taiwanese users, helping them find reliable answers more quickly.
