Taiwan startup Oen has become the first payment service platform in the Asia-Pacific region to fully adopt Visa’s Click to Pay across all its channels. With this new integration, supporters making payments on any event page powered by Oen can complete their transactions without entering a card number, instead verifying their identity using biometrics. According to Oen, this feature can increase overall checkout efficiency by up to 50 percent.
Founded in 2020, Oen is Taiwan’s first public technology startup focused on building platforms for civic engagement and community support. The company provides an all-in-one platform for managing supporter relationships, combining payment solutions and CRM tools for nonprofits, community organizations, religious groups, political campaigns, campus events, and a wide range of social groups. By helping organizations connect with their communities, Oen is making it easier to build trust and encourage ongoing support.
The online checkout experience is now recognized as a critical factor in the success of digital payments. Research from the Baymard Institute shows that the global average shopping cart abandonment rate is over 70 percent, with nearly half of consumers giving up because the process is too complicated, there are not enough payment options, or they do not trust the website to store their credit card information.
To tackle these challenges, Oen has partnered with Visa to introduce Click to Pay for a faster and safer experience. “With our partnership with Visa to introduce Click to Pay, users can now complete payments with a single click, while the FIDO authentication replaces the instability of traditional SMS verification,” explained Oen co-founder and CEO Hsin Hsiao. “For us, it is more than just another payment option. It means that all kinds of support campaigns can enjoy the same secure and smooth checkout experience as major e-commerce platforms. Every click becomes a starting point for building long-term supporter relationships.”
This integration is designed to benefit both end users and organizations. By working with Visa, Oen brings international-level security to small and medium-sized organizations and event organizers, providing a digital payment experience that is both seamless and trustworthy—and without requiring any extra technical development.
Samantha Huang, General Manager of Visa Taiwan, shared her perspective: “As online shopping and mobile payments become more common, consumer expectations have shifted from simply being able to pay by card to wanting the process to be simple, fast, and secure. Visa Click to Pay streamlines the input process, optimizes the online experience, and increases authorization success rates. We are glad to work with Oen, a leader in the supporter economy, to help more small teams provide a safe and convenient one-click payment experience for their supporters.”
Oen’s adoption of Visa Click to Pay is not limited to event registrations. The company plans to expand the feature to memberships, online sales, recurring donations, and many other scenarios. Once a user’s card is linked, checkout is not only significantly faster, but also safer thanks to biometric authentication and Visa’s tokenization technology, which keeps sensitive card numbers off the platform. Oen’s own tests show that the time needed for checkout can be reduced by about half, while transaction safety is greatly improved.
Oen’s platform brings together ticketing, payment processing, and CRM features to help organizations nurture supporter relationships beyond a single transaction. By streamlining the final step of the payment process and transforming each payment into actionable supporter data, event organizers can turn every transaction into the beginning of a lasting connection.
