On January 29, Taiwanese public-interest tech startup OenTech announced a major step into overseas markets, unveiling a strategic partnership with For Good, Japan’s leading crowdfunding platform for social causes. The two companies are launching a joint online hub, “OenTech × For Good,” to integrate digital payments and supporter management tools. This collaboration is designed to empower social innovation projects from both Taiwan and Japan, overcoming language and national boundaries to build Asia’s first genuine cross-border support ecosystem.
OenTech is not a typical commercial payment platform. Instead, it provides digital solutions specifically for nonprofits and social change advocates. The platform integrates payment processing, CRM, and event management features. OenTech has a strong track record supporting public-interest projects across Taiwan, from environmental protection and education to social care. Its service partners include the Taiwan Search and Rescue Dog Association, the Alishan Ecotourism Association, and the Taiwan Vox Nativa Education Association. The mission is to make every donation and act of support—no matter how small—an effective driver of social change.
In 2025, OenTech completed a Series A fundraising round of NT$100 million (approximately USD 3.2 million), attracting investors with a strong public mission, including organizations focused on social issues as well as traditional capital.
Their Japanese partner For Good is part of Borderless Japan, a social enterprise group dedicated to tackling poverty, environmental challenges, and discrimination. For Good’s platform is unique in offering zero listing fees, which lowers the entry barrier for social entrepreneurs. Its projects focus on high-impact causes, such as post-disaster relief for the Noto Peninsula earthquake (achieving 161 percent of its funding goal), stray animal protection, and education initiatives in Cambodia.
OenTech co-founder and CEO Hsin Hsiao commented that technology should do more than serve business—it should also connect people and enable positive change. He sees this partnership as a way to link Taiwan’s culture of goodwill with Japan’s spirit of innovation. The two teams plan to deepen collaboration in CRM and digital fundraising technology, while exploring sustainable models for long-term, cross-border public-interest projects.
For Good’s representative, Kodai Komatsu, explained that the platform’s mission is to make doing good an everyday habit. With OenTech’s 1.5 million supporters in Taiwan, the partnership will help accelerate social innovation throughout Asia. Komatsu also expressed hope that Japanese projects will find new momentum and support among Taiwanese users through this new connection.
