Meet Taipei 2025 concluded at Taipei Expo Dome, drawing a record 55,532 visitors and once again confirming its status as Asia’s leading startup and innovation platform. This year’s three-day festival, themed “Dancing with AI,” placed Taiwan firmly at the center of the global technology conversation and underscored the depth of international collaboration and business exchange.
The event welcomed 433 exhibitors and startup teams from 20 countries, including Japan, the United States, Canada, Singapore, and Malaysia. Meet Taipei has evolved beyond a regional event and is now a recognized connector in the global innovation ecosystem. For the first time, international delegations were coordinated by ecosystem partners and accelerators such as the Canadian Technology Accelerator and Seoul Business Agency. This shift demonstrates a move toward more integrated international participation.
Marie-Louise Hannan, Representative of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, highlighted the partnership’s potential by stating that Canada’s strength in AI research and Taiwan’s world-class supply chain together are creating new possibilities for both sides. She sees even more opportunities ahead as the collaboration continues to deepen.
Eric Frater, Economic Section Chief at the American Institute in Taiwan, added that Taiwan’s unique research and development strengths and its industrial flexibility provide a strong foundation for AI advancement. He expressed excitement about Taiwan’s innovation bringing new momentum to the global startup scene.
This year’s festival saw a seventy percent increase in one-on-one business matchmaking sessions compared to last year, with a total of 536 sessions and participation from 12 leading international partners. Nearly 20 startup teams came from North America alone. Delegations from Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia also joined, highlighting Meet Taipei’s growing appeal as a gateway for startups entering both English and Chinese-speaking markets.
Deputy Minister Jan Fang-Guan of the National Development Council pointed out that despite global headwinds, Taiwan’s startup fundraising in 2024 reached an all-time high, surpassing NT$100 billion. Support from both government and the private sector is fueling real momentum in innovation.
Taipei Mayor Wayne Chiang attended in person, emphasizing the city’s ongoing commitment to supporting AI innovation hubs and to providing a fertile environment for international startups.
Artificial intelligence was at the heart of Meet Taipei 2025. The event focused on how AI is catalyzing investment and transforming industries. According to the 2025 Taiwan Startup Ecosystem Report presented at the festival, the number of startups in Taiwan now exceeds 10,000. Investment in 2024 reached $3.3 billion US dollars, reflecting steady growth.
International voices also shared their perspectives. Andy Lombard, Founding Partner of Arizona’s Tesoro VC, spoke about the opportunities created by global supply chain shifts and the rise of new innovation hubs. He explained that they are searching for the next major client, and those future leaders are among today’s startups.
The Meet Neo Star Demo Show, the festival’s headline competition, selected 30 finalists from more than 230 teams this year. Valtec, which develops AI drone solutions for commercial fisheries, received the Grand Jury Prize. mesoView, known for optical systems that speed up intraoperative pathology testing, and Pulxion, a pioneer in non-invasive AI-powered vascular diagnostics, were also recognized.
The winners reveal a growing trend in Taiwan’s startup scene. Startups are becoming more technically sophisticated and globally focused, especially in the fields of deep tech and smart healthcare. These sectors are now demonstrating strong momentum thanks to long-term investment.
Meet Taipei 2025 was more than a showcase of trends. It was also a platform for real business opportunities. The festival hosted more than 500 business matchmaking meetings and featured 202 startup pitches across its exhibition areas. The official Startup-Investor Matchmaking event brought together ten venture capital firms and ten major corporations, making it the largest exchange of its kind in recent years.
A new feature this year, the CVC Corporate Venture Lounge, attracted nineteen major corporate venture teams including Wistron, MediaTek, Chunghwa Telecom, and Taiwan Mobile. More than 50 startups participated in focused discussions, and over 100 founders attended, creating deeper industry connections and new business value.
As Meet Taipei celebrates its twelfth year, the festival has expanded its reach far beyond the Asia-Pacific region. It now stands as a strategic hub for startups, investors, and industry partners around the world. This year’s success reflects Taiwan’s growing role in the global innovation ecosystem, especially as AI and supply chain transformation accelerate new cross-border opportunities.
Looking ahead, Meet Taipei will continue to provide a vital space for business development, practical collaboration, and long-term impact, supporting Taiwan’s startups as they reach out to the world.
