In the fast-evolving world of AI-powered PCs, IrisGo is aiming to do something different: make computers that actually learn, remember, and anticipate what you want, not just respond to your commands. This week, the Silicon Valley–born and Asia-connected startup announced a $2.8 million seed round led by AI Fund, the venture studio created by legendary AI scientist Andrew Ng.
This funding is more than a cash infusion. It’s a vote of confidence in IrisGo’s vision of turning AI PCs from mere hardware upgrades into true digital companions that can adapt to each user’s habits and needs. With Acer already confirmed as the first launch partner, and more top PC brands on the way, IrisGo is preparing to enter the market at scale.
Industry analysts predict that shipments of AI-powered PCs will soon exceed 100 million units each year, driven by new hardware like Intel’s Panther Lake processors. Yet, most so-called AI assistants remain basic, disconnected from users’ real workflows.
IrisGo wants to move beyond that. CEO Jeffrey Lai explains, “Faster chips are great, but real value comes from software that understands people.” The IrisGo platform stands out for its ability to learn from you, proactively support your day, and organize information without being told every step. Its key features include persistent memory, hybrid local and cloud processing for privacy, and a unique “Watch and Learn” system where the AI can pick up new workflows just by observing you once.
Securing investment from Andrew Ng’s AI Fund is not just a financial milestone. The fund offers hands-on support and access to a global network of AI expertise and investors, including the backing of Sequoia Capital and SoftBank. IrisGo is the first startup from Taiwan to join since the fund established its Asia HQ in Taipei. This partnership is expected to speed up IrisGo’s product rollout and help build the next wave of agentic AI—systems that can operate flexibly across different apps and tasks.
IrisGo’s leadership brings heavyweight experience from Apple, Google, and the enterprise software world. The team believes that the openness and computing power of the PC make it the best place to build a digital butler. By working with PC manufacturers like Acer for pre-installation, IrisGo hopes to reach users immediately, becoming part of daily routines without the hassle of extra downloads or setup.
Looking ahead, IrisGo plans to announce more partnerships with PC makers later this year. As AI-powered devices become more central to daily life, IrisGo is betting that personalization, privacy, and seamless automation are what users really want.
As IrisGo and its global partners move forward, the question is not whether AI will be part of our computers, but how personal, helpful, and secure that AI can be. For users and industry watchers alike, IrisGo’s journey will be one to watch as the world’s computers get smarter, one workflow at a time.
